It was midday at low tide so I had to find a suitable spot and Squires gate looked the best. Arrived in the car park there and went down on the beach to find 2 other guys out kiting on 12's which looked perfect. Got back to my car and found a parking ticket which was a bitch - didn't realise it was a pay'n'display car park. Lesson learnt.
Ventured of further down the road to St. Annes to see if there was any more suitable spots and bumped into Jo, Neil and a few other lads from Fleetwood. They were goin back to Squires gate so followed them. Just as we arrived, I was putting my wetsuit on in the car park when the big 737 jet came over pretty low - prob only about 500 ft and I later heard the big gust came through after it past and snapped one guys lines on his kite. As it went past, it was too low to make it to the runway so it powered up which musta sent a massive blast as well as its wake from the wings. - Scary stuff

As I rigged up, it was rainin pretty hard and at the same time the wind died. We were ooing and arghhing for half an hour or so before it did pick up slightly so went to the waters edge but it wasn't enough and did a bit of a downwinder. Packed in and called it a day. I woulda been fine if I rigged up in the first place as there was a good 20knot wind. With the miserable rain, sand gettin everywhere and drop in the wind - only worthy of 2 stars.
